Hi Elizabeth,
We have finally returned after a most satisfactory holiday in Italy. I thought it was worth making a few comments about our stays in each of the
two villas - so this note is in regard to Villa d'Epoca.
All 5 of our party were very pleased with the quality of the villa, the location, the security and most importantly the helpfulness and availability
of our hosts. Compared to our expectations based on the website (which were high!!) we scored a 10/10. The blend of history and age with the modern facilities was a perfect fit. The immaculately maintained swimming pool was brilliant (the great weather helped here of course!). Our host, Lamberto, was great - being helpful when needed, not intruding on us but at the same time when we were in the mood for a chat about the area or the history being willing to sit down with us and impart his excellent knowledge. This definitely added to our experience. His english and his tolerance of our poor italian worked very well!!
We also found the location ideal for experiencing a large part of Tuscany and San Sepolcro was a hidden treasure that deserves more exposure.
So we would be happy to strongly recommend the villa and location to others.

Best regards,
Rob Wyatt

Chers Hotes

The villas Self catering Wing is spacious and furnished with wonderful period antiques. The wonderful frescoed Gallery on the first floor leads to the master bedroom –very comfortable large bed.The metre thick villa walls means the interior stays nice and cool even when it was 35C + outside. The views from the elevated position of the Villa and well tended Gardens over the Tiber valley and also the Apennines mountains were truly stunning. The owners of the villa were very kind and helpful, suggesting different day trips etc. It was also very interesting listening to Lamberto telling us about the history of the villa and his family. The pool was very private and for the sole use of those people staying in the villa wing .It was kept very clean, the water always crystal clear. Villa La Castellaccia is ideally situated for exploring this corner of Tuscany ,Romagne, Le Marche and Northern Umbria. The perfect location for a base for the Piero della Francesca trail. Sansepolcro and Anghiari are only 5 minutes drive away. Monterchi, Citerna and Caprese Michelangelo only 20 minutes away. Arezzo is only 40 minutes , Gubio,Peruggia,San Leo an hour away Urbino, San Marino and Assisi all an hour and 15 minutes away Siena-90 minutes away. We had a wonderful holiday exploring the beautiful very varied landscapes and countryside. Visiting pretty medieval towns and villages with so many picturesque churches, Piazzas, narrow alleys, etc The local people always very friendly and approachable. We ate out in many excellent restaurants. Our favourites being Al Travato in Monterchi and Baldaccio Pizzeria in Anghiari I thoroughly recommend the Villa La Castellaccia as a base for exploring this wonderful part of central Italy ADIRAFFA / 25.08.2010 - 10:37:35 ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨
